Barfii (Hindi: बर्फी) is an upcoming Hindi romantic, murder mystery film being directed by Anurag Basu, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz[2] in lead roles. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor reportedly plays the role of a deaf person.[3] Priyanka Chopra will play the role of a mentally challenged girl,[4] for which she will attend a mental asylum to get into the skin of her role.[5] While, Telugu Tollywood actress, Ileana D'Cruz will play the role of the narrator.[6] In November 2010, the title of the film has been changed as Barfee. It was earlier known as Khamoshi and Silence respectively.[7] Earlier, Katrina Kaif and Asin were being considered for roles in the film.[1] The film began shooting on March 11, 2011.[8] The film's release date has been pushed to July of 2012. [9]
